WSpecEm is a 48k ZX Spectrum exact-speed emulator for Windows. I developed it at the University of West of England, in Bristol, UK.

The last version was v1.4b. It has a bug under Windows NT, that's easily circumvented. After installation, execute the following steps:

1)  rename /Program files/wspecem/spectrum.rom to s.rom.

2) execute wsepcem

3) select Options->Sound->no Sound

4) select Options->Save Options

5) rename s.rom back to spectrum.rom

6) Enjoy.

The sources are under the GNU policy. As the heart of this program, you have a fully tested 100% Z80 emulator in C. You're free to use it to adapt it for powering your programs.

For further doubts or for information about others emulators, please read the Comp.Sys.Sinclair FAQ, and my WSpecEM´s dissertation. You can get it here and a small emulation presentation here.

Tape2Tap - DOS tape sampling program, w/ assembly source and SoundBlaster programming documents. This program is using the timer chip, so it must run from the 8088XT to the Pentium ]I[.

Disclaimer: I am no longer supporting this programs. I am aware of their limitations. The ipp.pt ftp and www pages mentioned in the emulator software and documentation are dead.
